Telecommunications is the transmission of information using various types of technologies. It allows for communication or exchange of information and plays a big role in national security. For countries with people limited by geography, telecommunications is an important tool in enabling development (National Research Council, 2006). Some examples of telecommunications include the telephone network, the Internet, computer networks, the radio broadcasting system. In the system, data is transmitted in a circuit through an electrical signal called the carrier wave with some form of modulation, either analog or digital, while modern technology uses internet protocols. These systems are usually run by telecommunications service providers.
