Competition Rules and Format
The event will be held from 12 to 15 March 2021, online. A range of online platforms will be used in order to cater to the scheduled events.
The working language of SISC 2021 is English.
Each school is allowed to field one team of three students, aged 15 – 18 years old in 2021.
SISC 2021 comprises 3 challenges: the Research Challenge, the Field Challenge, and the Design & Build Challenge.
In the Research Challenge, each school may submit only one research project for SISC Proceedings. The same project should be subsequently used for the Video Presentation. The research project can be an individual project or in group project with a maximum of three students.
For the Field Challenge and the Design & Build Challenge, school teams will be organised according to their time zones for the ease of collaboration.
Achievement within each challenge will be recognised by a range of awards.
Participants must declare that they have worked on the projects themselves and that they have only received advice or guidance from their teachers and/or mentors.
Late submissions will not be considered and there will be no extension of deadlines.
Overall Scoring, Prizes and Awards
The weight of the Research, Field and Design & Build Challenges are 30%, 30% and 40% respectively.
The details of judging criteria, viz. creativity, scientific thought, meeting of engineering objective, etc. will be published on the official website of SISC 2021.
All participants will be given certificates of participation.
All participants are required to be present online during the release of the judging results.
All decisions made by the SISC 2021 Organising Committee are final.
