Altruistic Thinkers, Global Citizens (ATGC)
In the wake of unprecedented challenges posed by the spread of COVID-19, entire societies all around the world have risen up courageously to tackle and minimise the negative impacts the pandemic has had on human lives. The need for us to see ourselves as global citizens and address issues as one united human family is more crucial now than ever before. In this e-SISC, we seek to encourage altruism for fellow men and develop both global and communal perspectives on multi-faceted problems. Participants will get to collaborate with experts, professionals and peers from different countries, deepen their capacity to resolve difficult situations, and explore solutions that can potentially benefit the lives of thousands across different parts of the world. Perhaps, just like the ACGT bases - adenine (A), cytosine (C), guanine (G), and thymine (T) - that make up our human DNA, the future of our humanity truly lies within us.

Conceptualised by National Junior College (NJC) in 2007, SISC is a biennial international event that brings together gifted students of age 15 to 18 from around the world to compete, collaborate and innovate in the Sciences. The multi-disciplinary foci and integrated nature of the challenges provide an authentic backdrop for students to apply scientific and technical knowledge to solving problems and innovate impactful solutions. Educators also engage in professional discourse and network with one another to establish and sustain partnerships that enable endeavour and enterprise.
